The City of Toronto Archives and The Friends of the Archives of Ontario will present a series of four lectures on architectural topics, entitled “Building Toronto: Archives and Architects”
Hosted by The Toronto Star's Urban Issues Columnist and Architecture Critic, Christopher Hume, the speakers will share their views on modern and historical building design, public spaces and the importance of preserving architectural records in archives.
The following lectures will be held at the City of Toronto Archives, 255 Spadina Road:
Thursday, February 21, 7-9 pm, Scott Weir and Peter Hamilton: “Departures from the Streetscape: plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose”.
Thursday, March 6, 7-9 pm, Stephen Otto and Michael McClelland: “The Importance of Archives”.
Thursday, March 20, 7-9 pm, Dave Meslin and Pleasance Crawford: “The Spaces Between Buildings”.
Saturday, April. 5, 1:30-3:30 pm, Andrew Waldron: “Researching the Recent Past: Modern Architecture and the Archival Record”.
