Architectural Digest “Architecture Days” is poised to make its Canadian debut in Toronto during the week of September 24-30 2007. Timed in conjunction with the release of Architectural Digest’s October “Architecture Issue,” this dynamic program celebrates the design history and future of Toronto architecture through intimate tours, compelling panel discussions and keynote lectures by leading architects and designers.
“Architecture Days” Toronto starts with the reveal of the new Green Lounge at Gibsone Jessop Art Gallery in the Distillery Historic District. The question “where is Toronto headed?” is debated during “The Future Landscape of Toronto” panel discussion on Thursday, September 27, at the IIDEX/NeoCon Canada tradeshow, Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place. Some of the remarkable structures also featured during the week will include Daniel Libeskind’s Lee-Chin Crystal at the Royal Ontario Museum, the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts by Jack Diamond, Frank Gehry’s Art Gallery of Ontario and the recent facelift of the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art by Bruce Kuwabara . A tour of the city’s most structurally innovative nightlife hotspots and a guided tour inside the homes of some of Canada’s top architects end the week on a high note.
Architectural Digest “Architecture Days” is presented by: Air Canada, Castlepoint Realty Partners Ltd., City of Toronto, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Ontario Tourism, Tourism Toronto, CN Tower and Gluckstein Design.
