From Issue No. 139 | March 17, 2009

Following the recent landmark OMB decision to permit a 17 storey tower in Port Dalhousie's Heritage Conservation District, many are concerned that it will be impossible to prevent out of scale development in our existing HCD's. Others feel the decision does not set a precedent.

ACO/CHO will be convening a panel discussion with experts associated with the decision, and we hope Ministry of Culture representatives to discuss what happened, and what it means, and what we need to do to be certain that the heritage conservation district is protected as communities expect them to be.
