Art works and photography depict the evolution of the Don Valley landscape at Market Galley exhibition

Place:
Market Gallery, Front Street (St. Lawrence Market) Toronto
Date:
To February 26, 2011

From Issue No. 167 | October 18, 2010

Contemporary art works by artists from the Don Valley Art Club (DVAC) are featured alongside historical art works and photographs in order to illustrate the evolving history of Toronto’s Don Valley urban landscape.

Presented by Toronto Cultural Services through its Market Gallery program, the Brickworks/Artworks exhibition runs from September 18, 2010 through February 26, 2011.

The exhibit features close to 50 original artworks by more than 35 local artists. Historical art from the City of Toronto’s collection will show 19th century views as depicted by Marmaduke Matthews and Mary Meyer. Rare photographs enhance the exhibit by highlighting the changing Don Valley landscape.
