Jack Granatstein has written 60 books, including the latest one, Oxford Companion to Canadian Military History, co-authored with Dean F. Oliver, which is being launched at the Fort this evening. November 15 at 7:30 pm Mayor David Miller speaking about and reading from his new book, Witness to a City, which profiles 18 Torontonians whose stories inspired him during his tenure as mayor. For reservations email fortyork@toronto.ca.
December 8 at 7:00 pm (Note earlier time) Dorothy Duncan, who pioneered research and writing on food history in Canada (and started the food program at Fort York) will launch and discuss her new book Feasting and Fasting: Canada's Heritage Celebrations. While she is speaking you can watch our volunteer cooks prepare some of the recipes and enjoy sampling the results.
