Queen's Park Views Protection: Community Consultation Meeting

Place:
Room 309 Metro Hall 55 John Street
Date:
November 22, 2011
Time:
6:30-8:00

From Issue No. 185 | November 21, 2011

Reminder

City staff are seeking comment on a draft policy on instituting views protection for the post card view of the Legislative Assembly from just north of College Street. ACO and subsequently the Ontario Capital Precinct Working Group have been arguing for protection for the ceremonial approach to the Legislature from points further south to Queen Street. This is an important initiative by Councillor Wong Tam and to be applauded.

DTAH and the Centre for Landscape Research at U of T have been preparing some visual modelling of impacts of potential development on the views from further south and are asking the City to both proceed with the proposed protection and work towards adding to it.

The ACO/OCPWG visual analysis will be presented by Robert Allsopp following the City presentation.
