Professor Isabel Rigol
M.Arch Phd, School of Architecture, Havana, ICOMOS CUBA, ICOMOS Academy
There are many World Heritage Sites in Cuba, and few resources to conserve them. Starting in 1970, working for many Cuban cultural agencies in various capacities and collaborating with UNESCO, ICOMOS, ICCROM, Arch. Rigol has seen heritage losses and success. As founder- director of the National Center for Conservation, Restoration and Museology (a UNESCO/ UNDP project) in Havana, from 1982 to 1997, Rigol led training programs for the Region and important conservation projects for historic districts and buildings in Cuba. Isabel Rigol has taught architectural conservation in many capacities, including at the School of Architecture, Havana.
