Jim Harris of the W. Harris family, whose business, founded in 1869, eventually became Canada Packers/Maple Leaf Food, will speak on the history of the business and how it impacted 19th century Riverdale with regard to employment, environment and development.

The Harris family house at 450 Pape Avenue is a designated property and a plaque funded by RHS will be unveiled on the property later this year.
