Have you ever wondered about the 'genealogy' of your home?

Saturday, May 4, beginning at 9am at the Central Branch of the London Public Library, local experts will give thirty-minute talks on the following topics: Using the Heritage Map; Architectural Styles; The Land Registry Office; The London Room; Heritage Advocacy; and The Heritage Value of Postwar Architecture.

From 1-3pm, they will be available to help answer specific questions in one-to-one consultations; such as "When was my house built?" "What style is it?" "Who owned it before me?"

Over a dozen local history and heritage associations will have staffed exhibits that day including: London Heritage Council, Architectural Conservancy of Ontario - London Region Branch, Bishop Hellmuth Association, London Middlesex Historical Society, London Registry Office, Mid-Century Modern London, Museum London, Old East Village Association, Old South Community Association, SoHo Community Association, and Woodfield Association

At the kickoff on Thursday, May 2 (7pm), Susan Ratcliffe, president of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario will speak on "Home Truths: Building Nests to Last".

This free two day learning event is co-sponsored by London Public Library and London Heritage Council.
