A celebration of stone, art & craft, environment and community; including a vintage flea & food market, talks, tours, workshops, live music and childrens activities.
The Willowbank Stone Festival will commemorate stone and its influence on the culture of a community. From the earliest generations of master builders to present day quarry workers, stonecutters, masons, sculptors and wallers stone has been a building block of Canadas national identity.
The inaugural three-day event will bring together carvers, masons, artisans and everyone with a love of stone. The unique educational component of the experience will include lectures, demonstrations, a lime burn, dry stone walling certification and stone carving - with some of the best wallers and highly gifted sculptors from
North America and the UK.
