Join us for a panel discussion on infill in heritage sensitive areas across our city. Our panelists will exchange examples of best practices, lessons learned and the joys and challenges of navigating an infill project from inception to completion. We will be encouraging audience participation and look forward to a lively discussion.

Panelists:

Jay Baltz is on the Board of Directors of Heritage Ottawa and is past president and longtime board member of the Hintonburg Community Association. He chaired the City's Built Heritage Advisory Committee for seven years and served on a number of public advisory groups for planning and zoning studies.

Sophie Beecher was born and raised in Ottawa and grew up in Old Ottawa South. She has been a board member of Action Sandy Hill for 6 years and is currently the co-chair of two sub-committees under the Planning Committee: the Committee on Infill and Zoning, and the Heritage Committee.

John Cook is a principal of GRC Architects, where conservation and adaptive reuse of heritage buildings, as well as new projects in historic settings have been a significant part of his practice. He is a member of the committee which reviews and advises on design proposals for the Rockcliffe Park Heritage Conservation District.

Allan Teramura is an architect specializing in the conservation of historic
buildings and a principal in the firm Watson MacEwen Teramura Architects.
He is also Regional Director of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Moderator:
Michael Powell is president of the Dalhousie Community Association and host of the Tuesday Morning Special Blend on CKCU FM. He previously served as chair of the city's Roads and Cycling Advisory Committee.
