From Issue No. 222 | January 13, 2014

Built in 1926, the Palmhouse is the centrepiece of the greenhouse complex and formal gardens at Rideau Hall. It is a key component of the Rideau Hall National Historic Site of Canada and it is a Classified Federal Heritage Building. You are invited to enjoy a virtual idyllic retreat from the rugged Ottawa winter as Mona Lamontagne brings to life for us this tropical gem. Mona will guide us through the thought process, the research and the context which informed decisions in the Palmhouses recent restoration.

Mona Lamontagne is an architect and the National Capital Commission Project Manager for the rehabilitation of the Rideau Hall Palmhouse.
