Riverdale Historical Society February Event

Mary Mink: the Making of a Myth

In celebration of Black History Month, Riverdale Historical Society presents genealogist, author and librarian Guylaine Petrin, who will explore the story of Mary Mink, the daughter of James Mink, a successful Black businessman in in 19th Century Toronto. Mary was supposedly sold into slavery in the Southern United States by her white husband and then rescued by her father. Guylaine will attempt to arrive at the truth of this story by separating fact from fiction.

Admission $5/free to RHS members. Memberships available at the event.
