Alderlea estate was built between 1865 and 1879 for Kenneth Chisholm, the son in law of the founder of Brampton, John Elliot. The estate is an exemplary example of the full Italianate style. The city of Brampton purchased Alderlea in 2002 and its restoration commenced in 2010.
Heritage Mill were in charge of the architectural historical woodwork conservation/ restoration (phase two)
Using Alderlea as an example, the lecture will demonstrate correct restoration and conservation techniques and the importance of retaining character defining elements
The lecture will comprise both a slide show and a hands on demonstration of the building itself
