ACO Muskoka invites you to visit and experience the age old pass time of a picnic by the falls, bring your own picnic. Make a weekend of it, there is a lot to do in Muskoka.
There will be music and tours of one of Ontario's most interesting Cultural Heritage Landscapes, including three historic sites designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act. Water, road and rail transport converges here.
Chief Phillip Franks of the Wahta Mohawk will be there to give remarks on the signficance of this place, as a portage and as a place of migration, as his ancestors left Oka in the 1880's to travel by train and steamship and then by land to their new lands in Muskoka.
If you don't want to pack a lunch there are plenty of places to buy one. Don's Bakery has the best cinnamon buns in the area, you can get super sandwiches next door, or buy hot dogs and ice cream at the former Burgess United Church, a designated building.
